At IWSTH, safety is a top priority—physically, socially, and digitally. We strive to create an environment where students, staff, and parents feel welcome, protected, and respected.

Mission & Vision

We guide children in their development into free, independent thinkers who actively participate in society. Our education is based on Rudolf Steiner’s anthroposophy, with a balanced focus on head, heart, and hands. Curiosity, creativity, and collaboration are key to our approach.

Physical Safety

  • Emergency Response: Certified staff always present; regular training and drills.
  • Risk Assessment: Periodic evaluations with action plans.
  • Prevention Officer: Appointed to oversee health and safety (Kim Garcia).
  • Fire Safety: Evacuation procedures practiced regularly.
  • Playground Equipment: Annual inspections and maintenance.
  • Supervision & Traffic Safety: Clear rules and guidance during school hours and drop-off/pick-up.
  • Medical Protocols: Guidelines for administering medication and handling allergic reactions.

Social Safety – Students

  • Monitoring: Annual DUO survey and parent satisfaction survey.
  • Anti-Bullying Policy: Clear protocol and designated contact coordinator.
  • External Confidential Advisor: Available for parents. Internal confidential advisor available for students.
  • Digital Safety: Rules for mobile phone use and social media; parent evenings on media literacy.
  • Behavior & Sanctions: Procedures for addressing misconduct, including suspension.
  • Mandatory Reporting: For suspected abuse or harassment.
  • Student Support: Multidisciplinary team available for additional educational or emotional needs.
  • Bereavement Protocol: Sensitive response plans for loss within the school community.
  • Privacy Protection: Secure handling of personal data and communication.

Social Safety – Staff

  • Prevention of Aggression & Harassment: Foundation-wide code of conduct and support protocols.
  • Integrity & Reporting: Whistleblower policy and access to confidential advisors.
  • Workload Monitoring: Regular staff surveys and follow-up actions.
